Director of Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU
The Director of the CVS PICU would
help provide leadership in directing
the care of all critical care patients
with congental heart disease; develop
care maps, bedside teaching, and work
closely with pediatric cardiac surgeons,
pediatric anesthesiologists, and pediatric
cardiologists in the care of patients
and development of clinical research
Senior Lecturer - Paediatric
Cardiology
You will be a credentialed Paediatric
Cardiologist, with FRACP or the equivalent
and a track record of clinical and
research experience. A subspecialty
interest in echocardiography and fetal
cardiology would be preferred, but
is not essential. Duties will be clinical
half time with the Green Lane Paediatric
and Congenital Cardiac Service at
Starship Children's Hospital, and
half time with the University with
responsibilities for research, undergraduate
and postgraduate teaching.
General Radiologist
Clinically, this position would be
for a general radiologist who, to
use a term from baseball, might be
best described as a “utility
player”, capable of helping
out in a broad range of modalities.
Like everywhere else in the country,
the imaging modalities are probably
the busiest spot in the department,
so some extra interest and abilities
in these areas would likely be pretty
helpful. And because of the size of
the department and sub specialization
of mammo, angio, and vascular IR,
it shouldn’t be a major issue
to keep you out of these things if
you choose. Conversely, they can also
allow you keep up your skills in all
of these things if they are modalities
you enjoy. Bear in mind though that
“general radiology” in
this environment does not mean technically
low end work. This is a very progressive
department (as is the clinic overall),
and they aggressively seek out new
techniques and technologies to bring
into their arsenal of exams and treatments.
